SEATTLE, WA Friday, January 13th, 2006 – Continuing with its tradition of richly-detailed dense period fantasy roleplaying games, Eos Press is pleased to announce the dawn of the new dark age with the development of Unhallowed MetropolisTM, the gas-mask chic role-playing game of Neo-Victorian horror. Unhallowed MetropolisTM, set two hundred years after the outbreak of the Plague, chronicles the exploits of the Undertakers, gritty bounty men who make their livelihoods hunting the animate dead through the streets of a London that never was.
Neo-Victorian London itself is a sprawling, densely crowded fortification surrounded by fifty-foot walls. The metropolis is blanketed with the thick clouds of smoke billowing from countless factories co-mingling with the cremains of the incinerated dead. Its dingy streets are dimly lit by pale, crackling electrical light fueled by energy broadcast from the city’s Tesla array. It is here that human monsters, driven to madness by desperation and fear, compete with zombies and vampires for prime hunting grounds among the slums and rookeries of the metropolis. Beneath the haunted streets, resurrection men hawk stolen corpses in blood stained black markets to the degenerate ghouls and the amateur anatomists who practice the outlawed science of reanimation.
"This is a great new addition to Eos's family of products," said Brad Elliott, business manager for Eos Press. "Our company is committed to excellence in game and setting design, and Unhallowed MetropolisTM will be an example of both."
Written and created by Jason Soles and Nicole Vega, Unhallowed MetropolisTM was inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Nikola Tesla. Painstakingly researched by the authors, the game is steeped heavily in Victorian history and science to provide a rich role-playing experience.
Launching in Fall 2006, Unhallowed MetropolisTM features an incredibly detailed setting, a fast paced rules system, an in-depth anatomical study of zombies, rules for psychics, ghosts and a vast variety of supernatural horrors.
