The Scandinavian Gaming Community är nominerade till ett pris. Har någon mer koll på detta? Är The Scandinavian Gaming Community en sajt, eller är typ vi hela högen de menar?

Och vem ska i så fall ta emot priset, om vi alla skandinavier skulle vinna?

Om det var en hemsida borde vi väl känna till den? och de borde väl länka till den?

och som krass inskränkt rollspelare från sverige så säger jag:
rollspel.nu vore väl den bäste mottagaren av priset. för vi är väll störst?

Sverok är större, men sverok är ju faktisk en svensk organisation, medans vi är en organisation av mestadels svenskar som välkomnar alla skandinavier...

Trofén var ju verkligen värd att kämpa för. Ett förkolnat exemplar av tidernas värsta rollspel.

Jag ställde lite frågor till Matt Forbeck om detta och fick så småningom en del svar:

As a gamer in Sweden for more than thirty years running, I was
intrigued by finding "The Scandinavian Gaming Community" on your
shortlist for the fourth annual award. There was no link or comment
included and discussions on various gaming forums are running wild. Do
you care to divulge any for details on this?

An interesting question is also who is included as a nominee in this
case, since "[The winner} and the other nominees receive the right to
use the Diana Jones Award logo for promotional purposes." Can all
gamers in Scandinavia expect the right to use the Diana Jones Award
logo for promotion after this?

Finally, if this nominee is to win the award, who is expected to
appear at GenCon to accept it on behalf of the community? The
community is rather large and without any obvious figureheads. Have
you approached any particular organization or individual already?

make a massive toast in the direction of Scandinavia if its gaming community
wins the award.</blockquote>

Prisceremonin är ju nu på GenCon, så vi får kanske snart höra resultatet.

Från en fullpackad bar någonstans i Indianapolis i onsdags kväll:

The winner of both the Diana Jones Award and the Indie RPG of the Year Award was "My Life with Master" by Half Meme Press.

Så vi stupade på målsnöret. Men det är väl ändå kul att ha varit nominerade...

Skönt...

...jag var rädd att jag var ensam. Men jag gjorde det inte inte för att vara osolidarisk, jag tyckte inte att vi förtjänade att vinna.

(Dessutom så misstänker jag att domarna har samma könsfördelning som rollspelshobbyn i allmänhet och därmed faller utanför hur långt jag är beredd att gå för att vinna ett pris...)

"Paul Czege's My Life With Master (64 pages (7" x 8.5"), black and white staple-bound, $10) from Half Meme Press is the Hammer Films class to KPFS' AIP thuggery. In this wonderful, equally well-evoked, game, you play the cringing minions of a fearsome Master who terrorizes "a genericized area of early 19th century Europe." The mechanics are simple: the minions (the PCs) have two stats, Self-Loathing and Weariness. The Master (an NPC), or more appropriately, the environment, has two stats, Fear and Reason. Interactions between minions, Outsiders, the Master, the Townspeople, and the innocent Connections (whose regard gives minions Love points) are handled using d4 pools. In situations involving Intimacy, Desperation, or Sincerity, one adds dice (a d4, d6, or d8, respectively). The Master wants to impress Outsiders with his mad scheme, which requires further brutalizing his minions until the power of Love allows them to rebel against him. Players and GM cooperate to narrate various scenes, all building toward the inevitable death of the Master in a thunderous climax. (But if a minion ends the game with zero Love, he becomes a heartless Master in the sequel . . .) "
