I didn't see this, so a general thread for miniatures gaming, since i know there are a few of you on here.
I guess talk about what game you are starting up or planning to play, ask questions of folks or share photos from games past and current.
I have decided to slim down my minis gaming pretty seriously in order to focus more narrowly. I always end up with a lot of crap for different games, but none of which is enough to actually play any real games.
So other than some handfuls of scifi and fantasy figures I keep around for the odd game, my focus is going to be a pretty specific one: North West Europe from 1914 to 1945.
If it doesn't fit into that, it doesn't get purchased. The upside here is the same terrain is basically usable for both conflicts of course.
For the WW2 part for large scale games that means Victrix 12mm and Pendraken 10mm, for skirmishing it is all 20mm /1/72 scale (AB miniatures for the infantry, assorted 3D print stuff off ebay for tanks). For WW1 it will be mostly the Blue Moon 18mm line for late war and Peter Pig mixed with the new Old Glory 15s range for early war, in regular 15mm.
Rules wise for large scale games we play Crossfire and we recently started doing some Command Decision and liked that fine. I am not 100% happy with any platoon level ww2 rules but Arc of Fire and Disposable Heroes will probably do. Im at a point where I would rather spend more time playing than mucking about with the rules.
Nothing to share right now, since its mostly unpainted so far after rebuilding a bunch of stuff I got rid of after moving. One of the ambitions is to be able to set up a proper Normandy village table with houses and ruins. I did pick up a pile of cheap 3D printed tanks which were okay quality and some Normandy ruins that were great actually. Very pleased with them.

Okay, one photo but we didnt have a table cloth and my Germans were mostly not painted
But I got to introduce a friend of mine to wargaming and we had a grand time. This particular game was Arc of Fire.
What are you up to? What do you have painted or are you working on?
