Allt fast och beständigt förflyktigas, allt heligt profaneras, och människorna blir slutligen tvungna att betrakta sin levnadsställning och sina ömsesidiga förbindelser med nyktra ögon.
People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

"The most dangerous man, to any government, is the man who Is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost invariably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it. And if he is not romantic personally, he is apt to spread discontent among those who are." - Henry Louis Mencken

"Must be a yearning deep in human heart to stop other people from doing as they please. Rules, laws — always for other fellow. A murky part of us, something we had before we came down out of trees, and failed to shuck when we stood up. Because not one of those people said: "Please pass this so that I won't be able to do something I know I should stop." Nyet, tovarishchee, was always something they hated to see neighbors doing. Stop them "for their own good" — not because speaker claimed to be harmed by it." - Robert Heinlein (The Moon is a Harsh Mistress)

"It’s amazing to me how many people think that voting to have the government give poor people money is compassion. Helping poor and suffering people is compassion. Voting for our government to use guns to give money to help poor and suffering people is immoral self-righteous bullying laziness.
People need to be fed, medicated, educated, clothed, and sheltered, and if we’re compassionate we’ll help them, but you get no moral credit for forcing other people to do what you think is right. There is great joy in helping people, but no joy in doing it at gunpoint." - Penn Jilette

Samma här.

Oj, jag glömde nästan! Obligatorisk.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

"Justice, like lighting, should ever appear
To few men's ruin, but all men's fear."

Postmodernism:

Postmodernists hate science and academia, unless the latter is taught by non-white lesbians. Also all postmodernists never create anything worthwhile, they just circlejerk words until they end up in a linguistic mess that only other postmodernists can understand.

They also think it's adorable, but completely wrong, whenever someone tries to be honest.

a group dedicated to a single goal: the acquisition of truly obscene wealth. Oh! Oh! And subjugating the weak. So I guess that’s really two goals.

"Duty then is the sublimest word in the English language. You should do your duty in all things. You can never do more, you should never wish to do less."

-- Robert Edward Lee

"How do you hurt the man who has lost everything? Give him back something broken."

A positive attitude may not be enough to solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. –Unknown Kindern (aka Herm Albright)

It is our choices, far more than our abilities, which make us who we are.

"Capitalism is the fullest expression of anarchism, and anarchism is the fullest expression of capitalism."

"I define anarchist society as one where there is no legal possibility for coercive aggression against the person or property of any individual. Anarchists oppose the State because it has its very being in such aggression, namely, the expropriation of private property through taxation, the coercive exclusion of other providers of defense service from its territory, and all of the other depredations and coercions that are built upon these twin foci of invasions of individual rights." -Murray Rothbard in Society and State

Here I stand. I can do no other.

"Players who read the book are like wives who bring girls home for threesomes. They exist, but they're pretty rare, probably not yours, and trying the force the issue will probably end badly." --DarkDungeons

Is an Exalt not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the woman on the Scarlet Throne, 'it belongs to the Realm.' 'No!' says the man in the Jade Pleasure Dome, 'it belongs to the Incarna.' 'No!' says the Shadow of All Things, 'it belongs to me.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Devil Tiger.

It is easy enough to be friendly to one's friends. But to befriend the one who regards himself as your enemy is the quintessence of true religion. The other is mere business.

Ulrich and Wolfgang found god and became witchhunters. They didn't tell me. I turned round one day and found them dressed in black with pointy hats. There's nothing like hanging around with witchhunters to make you watch what you're saying, I can tell you.
Still it could have been worse. I could have found god like those scary fuckers Ulrich and Wolfgang.

Words are the litmus paper of the minds. If you find yourself in the power of someone who will use the word "commence" in cold blood, go somewhere else very quickly. But if they say "Enter", don't stop to pack.
-Terry Pratchett, "Small Gods"

I know about people who talk about suffering for the common good. It's never bloody them! When you hear a man shouting "Forward, brave comrades!" you'll see he's the one behind the bloody big rock and the wearing the only really arrow-proof helmet!
-Terry Pratchett, "Interesting Times"

Ventrue: Of course...he is my childe!

*Silence*

Player3: Hmm...(Starts counting on fingers)... right .... Oh dear, this is gonna hurt!...guys...he's Ventrue!

Player2: We know that!

Player3: You don't understand! He is *Ventrue*!!

Democracy is the unshakable suspicion that the majority of the people are right for the majority of the time.

Liberalism is trust of the people tempered by prudence. Conservatism is distrust of the people tempered by fear.

The ideal method of government is democracy tempered by assassination.

Jag älskar de spartanska fraserserna. Men citaten måste nästan ses i ett sammanhang för att förstås. Några exempel här för den intresserade;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laconic_phrase

En av favoriterna;
One famous example comes from the time of the invasion of Philip II of Macedon. With key Greek city-states in submission, he turned his attention to Sparta and sent a message: "If I win this war, you will be slaves forever." In another version, Philip proclaims: "You are advised to submit without further delay, for if I bring my army into your land, I will destroy your farms, slay your people, and raze your city." According to both accounts, the Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If" (αἴκα).[20] Subsequently both Philip and Alexander avoided Sparta entirely.

"The best fantasy is written in the language of dreams. It is alive as dreams are alive, more real than real ... for a moment at least ... that long magic moment before we wake.

Fantasy is silver and scarlet, indigo and azure, obsidian veined with gold and lapis lazuli. Reality is plywood and plastic, done up in mud brown and olive drab. Fantasy tastes of habaneros and honey, cinnamon and cloves, rare red meat and wines as sweet as summer. Reality is beans and tofu, and ashes at the end. Reality is the strip malls of Burbank, the smokestacks of Cleveland, a parking garage in Newark. Fantasy is the towers of Minas Tirith, the ancient stones of Gormenghast, the halls of Camelot. Fantasy flies on the wings of Icarus, reality on Southwest Airlines. Why do our dreams become so much smaller when they finally come true?

We read fantasy to find the colors again, I think. To taste strong spices and hear the songs the sirens sang. There is something old and true in fantasy that speaks to something deep within us, to the child who dreamt that one day he would hunt the forests of the night, and feast beneath the hollow hills, and find a love to last forever somewhere south of Oz and north of Shangri-La.

They can keep their heaven. When I die, I'd sooner go to middle Earth."

Har ni läst Something positive av Randy K. Millholland? Om inte borde ni det

Typos are very important to all written form. It gives the reader something to look for so they aren't distracted by the total lack of content in your writing.

It's a lot like nature. You only have as many animals as the ecosystem can support and you only have as many friends as you can tolerate the bitching of.

The shortest verse in the Bible is 'Jesus wept.' The only thing wrong with it is the past tense.

Never confuse the faith with the supposedly faithful.

The only time anyone's admitted they were a Christian before was when they were busy telling me why they're better than me.

The key is to commit crimes so confusing that police feel too stupid to even write a crime report about them.

Slow and steady wins the race, then wastes no time grinding salt-caked glass in your open wounds.

There are people I know who won't hurt me. I call them corpses.

It's not a matter of whether or not someone's watching over you. It's just a question of their intentions.

Friendship is being there when someone's feeling low and not being afraid to kick them.

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

Blev jävligt glad av att se ett Rothbard-citat från God45.

Sedan något som jag har upprepat för mig själv som ett mantra de senaste dagarna:
"Keep in sight that day of promotion
Anticipate that wave of emotion
Breeze through the cheese in your league
And believe in achieving your goals
Through amazing devotion" - Temp0

Även om du inte bryr dig om SC2 eller e-sport i allmänhet så tipsar jag om den här låten:
