Step 1 – Premium-quality Art
“We would like players to see Eoris Essence as a work of art, rather than just a role-playing game core book,” say the creators of the game. They have worked very hard to achieve excellent quality art in every page. In addition, something that is very particular about this game is that all the images were made by the creators themselves. This means that players will be seeing Eoris through the creators’ eyes. There is perfect harmony between the text and the art, which helps players have an accurate image of the setting and what it actually looks like. This in turn allows players to achieve a more realistic understanding of the general mood of the universe.
Step 2 – Profound and Highly-intellectual Setting
The Universe of Eoris is a high fantasy, profoundly intellectual setting that questions existence, the universe, and our place in it. Its storyline and deep philosophical and intellectual issues will result in a gaming experience that will provide a sense of transcendence, ultimately allowing players to submerge in intellectual and emotional dilemmas.
Step 3 – Game System
The system used is called the ‘Essence System’. “This system is not exclusively suitable for Eoris Essence; it can be used for different settings…the Essence System is exciting and versatile for both storytelling and combat gameplay,” explain the creators of the game. Through it, players may embody a regular everyday person (i.e. a baker, a writer, a merchant, etc.) or a very powerful warrior or mage. A unique aspect of the Essence System is that it encourages players to consider their Characters as real living beings with dreams, hopes, and aspirations. For this reason, the developers have incorporated several storytelling features that bring Characters to life and allow players to relate more profoundly to their fantastical counterparts. Through social interaction, for example, a character’s emotional condition may suffer strong changes (both positive and negative). As in real life, these changes will have systemic repercussions on a Character’s performance.
