Hi there!

I'm a 25yo girl who just moved to Gävle from London and miss RPing  I have some experience with MERP, Victorian Age Vampire and Over the Edge though I'm open to just about anything and really would like to try some CoC.

I live centrally and can make my place available for the sessions if needed.

I really hope some of you out there RP in English! I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Louisa and welcome to the forum.

I´m afraid I haven´t heard of many members of rollspel.nu that live in Gävle (except Dewil, who I don´t know, but I am sure he´s a nice fellow), but I wish you good luck in finding some. I tried to google for it, but only managed to find some LARP communities :/

Anyway, try to stick around this forum, it´s probably the largest RP community in sweden and we somtimes arrange small conventions and meetings, aswell as attending to the large, national conventions. Feel free to start threads in english, as I don´t believe there are any rules against it.

If you have some time to spare, I would like to see a post where you tell us a little about the roleplaying scene in England.

(Hows your swedish, by the way? Do you understand the basics?)

Yeah, like kroppspoäng, grundegenskaper, and färdighetsvärde. :gremtongue:

/He who couldn't resist pulling a joke and that points out that she made it this far so that tells abit about her swedish

Not at all actually. The fact that she lives in Sweden makes me suspect that she has atleast one swedish speaking friend, able to translate

Hey and thanks for the reply! To answer your question, my swedish isnt that good... yet! I'm planning on learning but yeah i do understand the basics and can sort of get around with it. Sadly I don't think I'll be RPing with it any time soon!

As for the RP scene in the UK, it's pretty decent. There's a bit of everything but then again that's London. I hear the north has quite a good overall RP community too, probably fuelled on by a lot of LARP happening up in some of the caves and stuff. I'm probably not the best person to tell you about it however since I only got into tabletop pretty late. Strangely enough I started with mmorpgs and that led to RP so i was a late bloomer. The guys I used to RP with were 30-40 and had been at it since 16 so old timers!

Seems to me that you can actually get the games more easily in Sweden. For example, if you consider London being a rather large city, I only know of two shops specializing in that in the centre. As for the community... well we have a convention every year (dragonmeet) which is quite fun, but imo underpopulated considering it's in London and in a big venue but nothing as big as this site to really give you a more focused idea of the total amount of RPers in the UK sadly.

If you have more specific questions I'll try my best to answer them!

well i do, but I wouldn't bother them with this! navigating websites in swedish is pretty easy really. I tend to bug them more for the endless forms i need to fill out for your bureaucracy-mad government :gremsuck:

Feel free to post here in English, most people here should be more or less fluent in English and will hopefully be smart enough to answer in English as well.

Can I borrow those friends? It would be great to have someone take care of the paperwork!

Yes, I live in Gävle but unfortunately I'm not interested in RPing in English.

Anyway, welcome to Gävle. It's a nice town, despite what the natives will tell you.
