Det kan man ju ändå inte veta i förväg. Man kan ju ha ekonomiska motiv även om det i slutändan visar sig att dessa motiv kanske skulle ha betjänats bättre av något annat projekt.
Vad jag har fått lära mig är att många korsfarare tillhörde en äventyrslysten landlös adel under en epok där de flesta möjligheter att tillskansa sig land inom Europas gränser redan uttömts. Då kan man ju begripa om de röck huvudstupa in i ett företag som dessutom lovade att ge dem evig salighet i det hinsides.

det har ju forskats en hel del i ämnet, om man säger så.
En bra bok är en som heter Korstågen enligt araberna, eller nåt sånt, skriven av en libanesisk historiker.. finns i pocket.. rekommenderas.
