HoC är väl rätt uttalat 8-bitarsgrafik
Vad betyder då 8-bitars-grafik?

Grotten verkar skitcoolt, svartvitt, och därmed 1-bits-grafik.

Well, jag frågade ChatGPT:
-------------

Yes! 8-bit graphics generally refers to the visual style and graphical capabilities associated with 8-bit computing systems and consoles, like the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Sega Master System, and early arcade machines. It is defined by a few key characteristics:

  1. Color limitations – Typically, an 8-bit system could display a limited number of colors at once (e.g., the NES had a palette of 54 colors but could only use 25 on-screen).
  2. Low resolution – Games often had pixelated visuals due to hardware constraints.
  3. Sprite-based graphics – Objects and characters were typically made up of small tile-based sprites.
  4. Simple shading and dithering – To create the illusion of more colors, developers used dithering (mixing pixels of different colors) and basic shading techniques.
  5. Blocky appearance – Since these graphics were made of large pixels, they often had a chunky, retro look.
  6. Hardware-driven constraints – Tile-based rendering and limited sprite layering led to specific design styles.
Even though 8-bit originally referred to hardware limitations, today it's often used as a retro aesthetic in modern indie games and pixel art.

Så. i den meningen är HoC "8 bit graphics" även om jag inte tror att man kan få ut de bilderna på en C64 eller Atari 8-bit-maskin.
