"While the 1954 cartoon version of Orwell’s political fable doesn’t deal with American intelligence, it wouldn’t exist without the CIA, who secretly funded it. The CIA sent two members to Orwell’s widow, Sonia, to obtain the film rights to Animal Farm. She acquiesced, but only after the two agents arranged for her to meet her hero, Clark Gable. The CIA’s involvement is responsible for the film’s ending - the animals’ successful, and human-free, coup."
