The CIA sent two members to Orwell’s widow, Sonia, to obtain the film rights to Animal Farm. She acquiesced, but only after the two agents arranged for her to meet her hero, Clark Gable. The CIA’s involvement is responsible for the film’s ending - the animals’ successful, and human-free, coup."
