The short story was a tongue-in-cheek piece about a Pan-worshipping lawnmowing service that used remote control lawnmowers who mow the head off a guy who discovered their secret. None of which has anything to do with Virtual Reality or intelligence enhancement. To the film’s credit fragments of the story are retained - the image of the remote-controlled lawnmower chasing a victim through his house, mowing up the carpet and leaving their severed head in the bird-bath, and even two or three lines of dialogue. But these are conducted entirely devoid of any of the context they had within the original story. Stephen King thought so too and sued to have his name removed from above the title of the film.
Jag hittade också en länk! som ledde till en sida om en film som verkligen var baserad på novellen. Jag upphör aldrig att förvånas över hur skumma saker man kan hitta på Internet.

Jag började söka lite på nätet (boken ligger i ett förråd någonstans, så även om jag var hemma skulle jag inte kunna läsa om novellen). Jag hittade följande:Jag tror att du har problem med ditt minne och/eller din fantasi...
Om jag minns rätt så påminner den lite om filmen, fast inte lika överdrivet special effectig.
