For fantasy RPGs that are not tied to a specific setting (f.x. Warhammer FRP) what is your preferred vibe of fantasy?
The two biggest influences on me has always been David Eddings IElenium) and Joe Dever (Lone Wolf) with elements of Tolkien and Fighting Fantasy in there.
In more recent years, snippets of the Elric and Black Company books have crept in too. But as a kid, when I imagined "fantasy heroes" I imagined characters you might find in a Lone Wolf book or a world like that of Eddings. Perhaps why BRP always suited me so well as a system and game philosophy because it feels like it very naturally fits this.
