I agree with posters who said armor is part of the problem, though two-handed weapons will break through most armor just fine. In real life, as plate armors became common, shields fell by the wayside
The follow up question to people:
What percentage of attacks from an enemy should hit the player character?
Ignore armor for now. A "hit" is an attack that succeeds and is not parried.
To use an example, I am fighting Storslägga, the rese from Svart Duell. He does 2T10+1T6+2 damage with a hit (average of 15 KP. Assuming I am wearing full plate I will die in two hits. The last scenario I ran, any of the characters would be likely be dead in one hit from this guy). His SV is 50%
What % of his attacks should hit home?
(If we know that the end goal is (in other words the % chance of an effective hit) then we can dial in the process to get there)
