My fellow kultists,
This was an interesting and hectic weekend for KULT: Divinity Lost (play-testing, meeting with artists, and a lecture about Kult and its mythos), and all these activities consumed more time than we anticipated. But at last, we can finally reveal the amazing cover artwork of KULT: Divinity Lost.
This artwork is a tribute to the classical Kult cover of an angel in bondage. We wanted our version to be haunting and regal and, at the same time, sensual (and somewhat sexual)—all key elements of the KULT: Divinity Lost experience. Our first choice of artist was the very talanted Bastien Lecouffe-Deharme. Bastien turned out to be a long-time fan of Kult, and even though he was very busy, he created this splendid piece of art for us. Bastien has a modern, but, at the same time, very classical, style that reminds me personally of Gustav Klimt.
The first version of the cover was deemed too revealing and sexual to be displayed in ordinary stores or on Facebook (apparently hooks and blood is okay, but female nipples aren’t), so we had Bastien make a toned down version, which is the one displayed here.
If you want to see the original uncensored version, you can check it out here: http://kultdivinitylost.com/
During the Kickstarter campaign, both versions will be available (at the same price), but the uncensored one will not be available in stores.
Cheers,
Petter, Mythos Author and Creative Director.

Triva of the week:
- The pope actually banned Kult when it was released in Italy.
- In Sweden, Kult was seen as so shocking that toy stores stopped selling role playing games alltogether.
